OW TO MAKE A
FAT32
FORMAT HARD DRIVE
WARNING!
Two types of video recording formats can be chosen; one is
Non-FAT32
; and the other is
FAT32
format
.
1.
Non-FAT32
format doesn’t provide
off-line
playback in PC.
2.
FAT32
format hard drive could be playback in any PC located at anywhere with supplied off-line player.
Two (2) methods to make a FAT32 format hard drive.
I. Use “FDISK” in Windows 9X (98, ME) to create FAT32 please follow the steps below.

Click the “Start “button then click the “Run” button and Run c:\windows\command\fdisk
1.2 Enter “Y” to select “Enable large disk support”
1.3 Enter”5” to select “change current fixed disk drive”

For Example
(You should double check the drive you select is what you really want to format. It can be “Fixed
disk drive #1, #2 or #3…. Depend how many hard disks you have. Check the disk size first
before you format the hard drive.)
1.5 Enter”1” to select “Create Primary DOS partition or Logical DOS Drive”

Enter”1” to select “Create Primary DOS partition”

Enter “Y” to select “Maximum size of the primary DOS partition”

Repeat entering “ESC” to get out of the FDISK program.
1.9 Reboot

For Example
(Normally when you click the drive, windows will ask you to format it automatic. Double check
it’s the one, which is REALLY empty inside.)
1.12 Click “Yes” Button to format the hard drive
1.13 Select the “Full” option in the format type
1.14 Click “Start” button to proceed
1.15 Click “OK” button to proceed
1.16 Select Scan Disk if this drive is not brand new or if you have time to do the hard disks scan
1.17 Click “close” button to leave format program
1.18 Power off computer and remove hard disk
Use Norton Ghost to restore a FAT32 blank image located on the TX168 CD Manual (Folder partition file
NULL1_1.GHO) to the hard drive, with following step. (You may obtain Norton Ghost from
www.symantec.com
. We recommend using Norton Ghost 7.5 Corporation Edition or 2003 Home Edition.)
2.1 When Symantec Norton Ghost starts, click “OK”.
