11.2.2.
Step 2 – PC or MAC TCP/IP
setup
In order to access the built-in web server for the
first time the TCP IP settings from the PC or
MAC must be modified. A fixed IP address has to
be set. Therefore follow the instructions below.
Assigning a Static IP Address in
WINDOWS
XP/2000
Go to the ‘ Control Panel’ (refer to Figure 11.3)
Double-click on Network Connections
Figure 11.3: Control Panel
Right-click on Local Area Connections (refer to
Figure 11.4).
Double-click on Properties
Figure 11.4: Network Connections
Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Click Properties
Input your IP Address and subnet mask (refer to
Figure 11.5).
The IP Addresses on the network must be within
the same range. The default IP address from the
WCAP is 192.168.0.10 so the computer should
have an IP Address that is within the same
subnet, like 192.168.0.11 and 192.168.0.20. The
subnet mask must be the same for all equipment
on the network: 255.255.255.0)
Click OK
Note:
Be sure not to use the IP address
192.168.0.10 for your computer, as this
is reserved and used by the WCAP as a
default.
Note:
The
WCAP
has a default fixed IP address
and subnet mask:
IP:
192.168.0.10
Subnet mask:
255.255.255.0
