9.2.1 Directional antennas
Use directional (outdoor or indoor) antennas if signal range is too low or very low.
Directional antenna can increase signal level. Using the antenna cannot guarantee sufficient
range of signal – it depends on GSM coverage in place where modem is used. It is better to use
an antenna which works in higher frequency (GSM1900), but it depends on if GSM1900 signal
is transmitted in area of use – if not use antenna for lower frequency (GSM900). If there is no
GSM signal any antenna would help.
