This process does not delete the configuration that was previously stored; it simply re-establishes the default config-
uration.
1.4.2 Procedure to force startup in BOOT mode
Carry out this process if you need to force the router to startup in BOOT mode to load/upgrade the C.I.T. image from
BOOT. For further information, please see the manual on software updating (
Dm748-I Software Updating
).
Follow these steps:
• Turn off the device by means of the ON/OFF switch.
• Using a sharp object, press the RST pushbutton and hold it down.
• Turn the device on with the ON/OFF switch.
• Wait until the WLAN LED begins to blink (see Figure 16). Keep the RST pushbutton held down.

• After about 15 seconds, the WLAN LED goes out and the DSL LED lights up (see Figure 17). Keep the pushbutton
held down.

• After about 3 seconds, the WLAN LED lights up. This time it’s steady i.e. not blinking (see Figure 18) and the DSL
goes out. Release the reset button at this point.
