4.6 Installing PMC Cards
The ATLAS 300 features and interfaces can be amplified by inserting PMC boards (PCI mezzanine card). The AT-
LAS 300 supports up to 3 cards simultaneously. For proper installation, follow the steps listed below. Should you en-
counter any problems, please contact your usual supplier.

Switch off the device as described in
General Installation
on page 4.

Remove the device from the workplace and place it in a stable, safe location, where it can be easily accessed
and handled.

Open up the device. To do this, remove the upper cover (secured to the rear panel by means of two screws).
You will need a star screwdriver to do this. Keep the screws in a safe place for later use.
Once the screws have been removed, slide the cover some 10 mm towards the rear panel and then remove it
by lifting it upwards and carefully separating it from the sides. Place it in a safe location.

Determine where the PMC board should go. This will depend on which slots are free and on the mechanical
characteristics of the PMC board. The following figure shows the ATLAS300 motherboard as viewed from the
front panel of the device. The different slots have rectangles printed on them and are labeled H1, H2 and H3.
