371B Service Manual
The side, top, and bottom cabinet panels provide protection for personnel from
high-voltage potentials present within the instrument. In addition, they reduce
radiation of electromagnetic interference from the instrument. Operate the
instrument with the panels in place to protect the interior from dust and to
maintain cooling airflow.
The 371B can be operated where the ambient temperature is b10
_
C and

_
C and stored in ambient temperatures from –20
_
C to +60

C. After
storage at temperatures outside the operating limits, allow the instrument
temperature to reach the safe operating limits before applying power.
The 371B is cooled by air drawn through the fan from the rear and blown out
through holes on the side panels. To ensure proper cooling of the instrument,
maintain clearance at top, sides, and rear of the instrument.
