. The characteristics examined in this procedure are provided as examples

of typical instrument operation to aid in the adjustment of R420; they are not
specifications.

Equipment Setup.

Set up the equipment as shown in the following illustration and

set controls as described.

371B

1. While pressing the cursor SHIFT button, set the 371B POWER switch to

ON. This displays the Frame Test Pattern on the CRT.

Examining Astigmatism.

2. Change the following 371B settings:

INTENSITY

NON STORE/STORE/VIEW

Largest possible displayed

center spot

READOUT/CURSOR

Fully counterclockwise

3. EXAMINE the center spot for a circular shape.

If the center spot is not circular, the following adjustment may be necessary.
