• Read carefully the instructions, common to dif-
ferent versions depending on the accessories
supplied with your appliance, and keep them
within reach.
• Before first use, wash the plate(s) (follow para-
graph 4), pour a little cooking oil onto the
plate(s) and wipe with a soft cloth or paper
kitchen towel.
• Always use a wooden or plastic spatula to
avoid damaging the cooking plate.
• Check that the appliance is cooled and un-
plugged before cleaning.
• Clean the plates and body of the appliance
using a sponge and washing-up liquid.
DO
• Never leave the appliance unattended when
plugged in or in use.
• Do not place cooking utensils on the cooking
surfaces of the appliance.
• Never cut food directly on the plates.
• Do not touch the hot surfaces of the appliance
but use the handle.
• Do not use metal scourers or scouring powders
to avoid damaging the cooking surface (e.g.:
non-stick coating, ...).
• The appliance and its power supply cord must
not be put in the dishwasher.
DO NOT
• If an accident occurs, rinse the burn immedi-
ately with cold water and call a doctor if nec-
essary.
• Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals
which have a particularly sensitive respiratory
system, such as birds. We advise bird owners to
keep them away from the cooking area.
• For your safety, this appliance conforms to all
applicable standards and regulations (Low
Voltage Directive, Electromagnetic Compatibil-
ity, Food Compliant Materials, Environment, …).
On first use, there may be a slight odour and
a little smoke during the first few minutes.
The green light goes out and lights up again
regularly during the cooking process, to
show that the selected temperature is
maintained.
