Deleting and Renaming Files
Notes on Renaming Files
• Music Files:
Music files are identified by the player based on ID3 tags. Whether these are uploaded to the player as single
files or in folders, or have been renamed by the user, the player ignores all these.
See Page 20 for full information.
• Radio and Microphone recordings:
The player names all files consecutively in the order they were recorded. There is no
renaming function in the player. So if, for example, you delete
F004
from the FM
folder the player will not rename the files but
leave a gap. You can rename a voice or microphone recording and the player will detect the new name. We strongly suggest
you rename recordings you wish to keep.

Connect the player to
the PC
In “My computer” open the player
Locate the file. Right Click on the file
Select “Delete” from the list
Click “Delete” to delete the file

Locate the file.
In this case it is a FM
Radio recording
. Right Click on the file
Select “Rename” from the list
Enter the new name in the box
The player will now recognise the new
name.
Note:
this will only happen with Voice
and FM Radio recordings
