Installing the temperature sensors
The outlet sensor is either integrated in the measuring capsule or it must be installed
in the connector. The inlet sensor is installed in a special ball valve or immersion sleeve
released for this type of sensor. – This applies vice versa for the inlet variant.
!
You must not change the cable length of the temperature sensors!
For the installation of two free temperature sensors, the sensor with the marking
must be installed in the same heating section as the volume measuring section.
Sensor marking
1
1
Remove the pressure from the sensor installation location.
2
Unscrew the closing screw from the special ball valve.
3
Place the enclosed O-ring on the assembly pin. Only use one O-ring.
When replacing sensors, replace the old O-ring with a new one.
4
Using the assembly pin, turn the O-Ring into the bore hole of the closing screw with a
rotating movement.
5
Place the O-ring in its final position using the other end of the assembly pin.
6
Place the temperature sensor with the plastic screw in the bore hole of the closing
screw and tighten it
hand-tight
. Do not use any tools for this!
Only valid in Germany
Temperature sensors for heat meters may still be installed in existing immersion sleeves
up to a nominal flow rate of qp 6.0 m³/h by applying a PTB tolerance rule under observa-
tion of the following:
•
It is not a new installation of the measuring point
•
The immersion sleeve must be clearly identified in the field, refer here to:
http://www.ptb.de (search term “Bestandstauchhülse” [existing immersion sleeve]). For
the allocation, use the EC type-examination certificate number which you can find in the
attached declaration of conformity.
•
Note the immersion sleeve number on a label (e.g. marking labels art. no. 180695),
which must be installed safely sealed on one of the sensors
•
The medium temperature must not exceed 90 °C.
