Short message function is a network servise. To transmit and receive short messages, you
maybe required to subscribe to the service from your network supplier in advance.
The handset supports the short message service. A message is sent to the short message
center of the network, then to the targeted user (a GSM user) by the network. If the targeted
user does not log on or fails to receive the message
full memory), the network will
temporarily store the message for a period which is codetermined by the settings of the
message sender and the service supplier.
The mobile phone supports not only the normal short message service ,but also the
enhanced short message service(EMS),by which messages with attachments e.g. inserted
pictures, ring tones, and animations, etc. can be transmitted and received.
If the memory of short message is not full, a message will be saved directly in the SIM
card.
A flashing icon will appear on the top row of the main screen if the memory is full.
If the recipient has already received the message, handset will sound an alert tone (if
preset for the message receiving prompt is kept on).
You can view the received messages in Inbox.
