5.4.1. IPv6
Set up the WAN connection mode and parameters here. You can set the
connection mode to PPPoE, Dynamic IP or static IP.
PPPoE:
PPPoE stands for Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet. This is a
network protocol that is mainly used for DSL services whereby individual users
connect to a modem using an Ethernet connection. Enter the username and
password provided by your network service provider and click
Apply
.
Dynamic.IP:
IPv6 uses two address autoconfiguration protocols, namely
Stateless Address Autoconfiguration Protocol (SLAAC) and IPv6 Dynamic
Host Configuration Protocol (DHCPv6). DHCPv6 is a network protocol used
to configure IP addresses, IP prefixes or other configurations required by IPv6
hosts working on IPv6 networks. When a host applying IPv6 receives a route
advertisement, it can create a process for it through a series of processes and
assign it a valid IPv6 routing address. This process is called "stateless address
auto-configuration (SLAAC for short)".
Static.IP:
Access the internet using a fixed IP address, subnet mask, gateway IP
address and Primary DNS server. These should all be provided by your network
service provider.
