Prior to first use
Inserting the battery
• A battery replacement is
necessary when the battery
icon
appears in the dis-
play.
• When the ambient tempera-
ture is low (below 0°C) the
battery power is reduced.
In this case, the battery might
not yet need to be replaced.
• When the battery is replaced
the settings on the device are
lost.
Do not touch the new battery
with bare hands; use a dry cloth
instead. Grease deposits on the
contact surfaces decrease the
battery’s service life.
1. Turn the battery compart-
ment lid anticlockwise using
a coin and remove it.
2. Insert the battery into the
compartment (underneath
the metal latch) with the
positive pole facing upwards.
3. Put the lid back on and turn
clockwise until secure.
Make sure that the sealing
ring is fitted correctly in the
battery compartment.
Setting the barometer and
weather symbol (prior to
first use)
Once you have inserted the
battery, the following displays
will flash in succession:
atmospheric pressure value >
weather symbol.
You can ascertain the current
atmospheric pressure at your
location from a meteriological
service, e.g. via the internet, or
from another well calibrated
barometer.
1. Set the atmospheric
pressure value with the
+
and
–
buttons (
mb/hPa)
.
2. Press the
MODE
button to
confirm your selection.
The battery symbol in the
display screen flashes.
3. Use the
+
and
–
buttons to
set the weather symbol
which best fits the current
weather.
4. Press the
MODE
button to
confirm your selection.
Setting the time and
temperature unit (°C/°F)
When you set the time, the
following displays will flash in
succession: hours > minutes >
12/24-hour display > tempera-
ture unit (°C/°F).
1. Repeatedly press the
MODE
button briefly until the time is
shown in the display.
2. Press and hold the
MODE
button for approx. 3 seconds.
3. Use the
+
and
–
buttons to
enter the hours.
4. Press the
MODE
button to
confirm your selection.
5. Then set the minutes, the
12/24-hour display and the
temperature unit (°C/°F).
Setting the date
When you set the date, the
following displays will flash in
succession: month > day >
display order month-day or
day-month.
1. Press the
MODE
button
briefly until the date is shown
in the display.
2. Press and hold the
MODE
button for approx. 3 seconds.
3. Use the
+
and
–
buttons to
enter the month.
4. Press the
MODE
button to
confirm your selection.
5. Then set the day and display
order month-day or day-
month.
Setting the barometer and
weather symbol manually
1. Press the
MODE
button
briefly until the maximum
height measured (
meter
) is
shown in the display.
Remove the protective
film.
