Procedures and calculation for flow rate adjustment
Adjustments and operations
NOTE
•
Local indications may result in values slightly different from those listed
in the tables.
•
It is essential to carry out the distribution test whenever characteristics of
the applied product are changed.
To make it easier to adjust the DCA 1200, please refer to the tables provided herein.
Most common seeds and fertilizers are listed in such tables, however flow rate adjustment
may be required based on different product formula, granulometry and density used in
relation to such tables.
To make the flow rate adjustment, please use the following formula:
D =
P x 10,000
Q x L
D
= Distance covered in meters;
P
= Weight of the product filled in the bin (i.e. two 50-kg bags);
L
= Effective working width;
Q
= Amount of product to be applied, in kg/ha.
Example: 200 kg/ha of urea should be applied
Power take-off speed: 540 rpm
Amount of urea in the bin: 100 kg (i.e. 50 Kg on each side of the spreader).
Amount of urea to be applied: 200 kg/ha
D =
100 x 10,000
200 x 16
D
= Approximately 312 meters.
Referring to the urea tables on the following pages, we have:
Effective working width: 16 m
Adjustment of the scale opening: No. 7.5
Selected working speed: 12 km/h
Paddles position: Paddle 260 - F2 and paddle 210 - F3 (Check the 'adjusting the
paddles' page).
Having the information above, it is possible to calculate the distance to be covered
using 100 kg of urea.
If the product has been used up before covering 312 meters, the scale opening should
be closed proportionally and the test should be done again. If any product has been left in
the bin, the opening in the scale should be proportionally opened and the procedure should
be carried out again until the proper flow is achieved.
