Check that the straw chopper has been successfully hitched up.
Ensure that the tractor PTO has stopped.
Move the cardan protection back, momentarily and connect it to
the PTO, fix the position using suitable devices.
Return the cardan protection to the working position and ensure
that it remains correctly placed.
Do not work without the PTO protections or the transmission
arbour as there is a risk of entrapment
When connecting the tractor PTO handle the transmission
elements using work gloves.
6.
Make the electrical and hydraulic connections between the straw
chopper and the tractor. (See section 2.6)
Driving with the parking brake on can provoke a blowout of
the straw chopper tyres due to overheating, which can cause
accidents.
7.
Remove the controls from their support, move near the tractor cab and
place them in the support previously installed there for them.
8.
Before starting work with the straw chopper, the operator must:
Correctly adjust the position of the remote control of the straw
chopper and the tractor´s driver seat, so that the driving position
and the access to the straw chopper controls can be carried out
with ease and not from a forced position.
Adjust the seat to the most ergonomic position possible for
handling the machine, by doing so possible back pain or
injury can be avoided.
Adjust the rear-view mirrors of the tractor for good visibility of the
mechanisms of the straw chopper and driving visibility.
The correct adjustment of the rear-view mirrors will enable
the driver of the straw chopper to reduce the risk of
accidents.
When adjusting the rear-view mirrors another person should help
while the straw chopper operator remains in the tractor driving
position.
For safety reasons, all the mentioned adjustments, should be
carried out when the tractor and the straw chopper are
stopped
9.
Once the previous adjustments have been conducted the driver should
perform the following checks:
Check, while standing up inside the tractor cab, that the rear of
the chopper can be easily seen.
Check, while standing up inside the tractor cab, that the chopping
system can be easily seen.
Check in the driving seat, through the rear-view mirrors, that the
distribution system can be easily seen.
Warning!
If the tractor has no rear-view mirrors, it will be necessary to
install them. If the tractor has rear-view mirrors and these do not
guarantee the correct visibility for driving and controlling the different
mechanisms of the straw chopper, another set of rear-view mirrors will
need to be fitted or the actual ones modified. TATOMA declines all
responsibility for any damage to persons or things caused by inadequate
or missing mirrors
