Troubleshooting Guide
If you experience any of the following difficulties while using the system, use this troubleshooting guide to help you remedy the
problem. While any problem persist, consult the TARGA Hotline. The telephone number you will find on warranty card.

• Sometimes a small amount of
picture distortion.

go to the OSD menu and switch to
Progressive Scan off
• Distorted picture
• Wrong picture set up (4:3 or

• Set TV and DVD-Recorder to the same
picture size.
Picture
• Noise (interference)
appears in the picture.
• DVD-Recorder is not
connected directly with the TV,
copy protection of DVD is in
use
• If video from this system has to go
through your VCR to get to your TV, the
copy-protection applied to some DVD
programs could affect picture quality. If
you still experience problems after
checking your connections, please try
connecting your DVD recorder directly to
your TV.
• The equipment connected
with the audio cable is not set
to receive DVD signal output.
• Select the correct input mode of the
audio receiver so you can listen to the
audio cable.
• The power of the equipment
connected with the audio cable.
• Turn on the equipment connected with
the video cable
• The Audio options are set to
the wrong position.
• Set the Digital Audio Output to the right
correct position, then turn on the recorder
again by pressing Standby/On.
• No sound.
• Volume to low
• Adjust volume

• Severe hum or noise
is heard.
• Electric interferences
• Check that the speakers and
components are connected securely.
• Check that the connecting cords are
away from a transformer or motor, and at
least 3 meters away from a TV or
fluorescent light.
• Move your TV away from the audio
components.
• The plugs and jacks are dirty. Wipe
them with a cloth slightly moistened with
alcohol.
• 5.1 connectors from recorder
not 1:1 linked to optional 5.1
Receiver
• Connect cable as described in the
operating manual

• No sound on loud
speakers.
• Load speakers directly
connected with DVD-Recorder
• Check the load speakers on active base,
if not use a 5.1 Receiver
