The Gear box case must be checked for oil leaks before each ride. If any leakage is found have a Tao Motor dealer perform repairs. Gear
box oil must be changed at the intervals specified in the maintenance and lubrication chart.
To change gear box oil
GEAR BOX OIL
1. Gear Box Oil Drain Plug ( 10 mm)
2. Gear B ox Oil Fill Plug (1 0 mm)
To prevent burns, avoid touching hot exhaust system. Wait till engine assembly is cold before any service
is performed.
TIP
Always replace exhaust gasket when removing exhaust pipe. Never reuse exhaust gasket .
1. Place ATV on level surface and set parking brake.
2. Remove left side foot rest.
3. Place an oil pan under the gear box oil drain plug to collect used oil.
4. Remove the gear box oil filler plug (10mm) and its washer from the gear box (#2).
5. Remove the gear box oil drain plug (10mm) and its washer (#1).
6. Reinstall gear box drain plug and washer to specified torque 21.5 Nm (2.15m.kgf, 15.5 lb•ft).
7. Fill gear box oil to 200ML of SAE 80 W/90 gear oil.
8. Re-install gear box fill plug and washer (#2).
9. Re-install foot rest.
10. Check for oil leaks.
