The power transformer of the subwoofer may generate a quiet hum both during the operation and 

in the standby mode.  

This is consistent with the standards of the manufacturer and does not reduce the sound quality.

It is recommended to turn off (POWER OFF) the subwoofer when not in use for a longer period of 

time.
