PoE - Power over Ethernet LAN: Type B
For organizations that are implementing 10/100MB LAN within their infrastructure,
the only option available is to carry power via signal pairs (1, 2, 3 & 6), because all
pairs are already used to carry data in 100MB LANs. Therefore, shortcomings in
cabling should not be an issue. See Figure 22 .

If the phone includes a PoE/Adapter switch on the rear of the phone base, it
must be set to “PoE”, (see
Figure 8 on page 23 ).
