Definition
The Power Prowler™ is designed for use on cabling systems with
or without voltage.
• The Voltage! Icon turns on when the voltage exceeds Safety
Extra Low Voltage (SELV) rating of 60 volts peak AC or DC
max.
• Internal components are protected to 600 volts RMS peak AC
or DC max.
• Operating the Power Prowler when a voltage source exceeds
600 volts RMS peak AC or DC max may damage the unit and
pose a safety hazard for the user.
Do not place equipment and its accessories in the trash. Items must
be properly disposed in accordance with local regulations.
• Do not use the Power Prowler or cables if they appear
damaged or the unit is not working properly.
• Verify the Power Prowler’s operation by testing a
known voltage.
• Do not use with voltages higher than the Power Prowler’s
rated voltage (600V).
• When connecting to energized cabling use appropriate
accessories that meet or exceed the cables voltages.
• Use with caution with voltages greater than 30V AC RMS, 42V
AC peak, or 60V DC.
• Disconnect circuit power and discharge high-voltage
capacitors when testing capacitance, continuity, diodes, or
resistance.
• Do not use around explosive or flammable gas.
• Use only test leads approved by a safety agency and that have
the same voltage, amperage, and category as the
Power Prowler.
• Before opening the battery door, remove any connected
adapters and cables.
• Always wear personal protective equipment when working
with the Power Prowler.
It is recommended to use caution when handling the probes and
cable connections on the Power Prowler™ when the Voltage!
Icon is present.
