Using the speakers
The speaker terminals can accommodate
cables with a cross-sectional area of
7 sq mm.
We recommend one of the high-
quality cables from the
range.
We recommend that you ask your
specialist
dealer for advice on choice
of speaker cables, as they have a
significant influence on the sound.
It is also important that you consider the
mechanical stability of the cable. Firmly
twisted strands of fine wire provide
optimum transmission of the music signal.
’s own range comprises cables of
various type, all of the highest quality. For
more detailed information and advice on
the suitability of the various types of cable
please ask your specialist
dealer or
refer to our cable brochure.
To fit speaker cable to the high-quality
terminal clamps fitted to
loud-
speakers, unscrew the cap, fit the
conductor in the cross-hole and re-tighten
the cap.
Take care to screw the terminal clamps
down firmly, and check that there are no
stray wire
'
whiskers
'
which could cause a
short-circuit.
Note:
Current safety requirements dictate that
loudspeaker cables with banana plugs
must no longer be used in Europe.
Caution:
Be sure to connect the
red
(+) terminal
clamp at the speaker to the
red
(+)
terminal at the amplifier, and the
black
(-)
terminal clamp at the speaker to the
black
(-) terminal at the amplifier.
If the speakers are connected with
incorrect polarity, they will work
'
out of
phase
'
, and pro-per stereo-phonic repro-
duction will not be possible. The most
obvious sign of incorrect phase is that the
sound is diffuse, and bass response poor.
