198.0.0.2 (dhcp)

The IP Local Address can be entered using the
numerical keypad. The

button backspaces to edit

a number once it has been confirmed. On
completion press the YES button to save the
changes, and the NO button to abort the changes.

If DHCP is configured to ON then the text “(dhcp)” is
displayed as shown above.

IP Local Mask

MENU: IP LOCAL MASK
255.255.255.0 (dhcp)

The Subnet Mask associated with the IP address of
the codec can be configured.

If DHCP is configured to ON then the text “(dhcp)” is
displayed as shown above.

IP Local Gateway

MENU: IP LOCAL GATEWAY
198.0.0.22 (dhcp)

The IP Local Gateway Address associated with the
IP address of the codec can be configured.

If DHCP is configured to ON then the text “(dhcp)” is
displayed as shown above.

IP Port

MENU: IP PORT
5000

The IP Port Address can be configured using the
numerical keypad.

In this example port 5000 would be used for
streaming RTP audio, while 5001 would be used for
setting up the IP call session.

IP Auto Buffer

MENU: IP AUTOBUF
AUTO

Auto
Manual

The C500ip default setting is with Auto Buffering
enabled. The characteristics and performance of the
IP line is evaluated over a short period of time and
the IP Buffer Length is optimised accordingly.

IP Buffer Length

MENU: IP BUF LENGTH
20 PACKETS

Auto Buffering can be disabled if there are problems
due to spurious errors. The IP Buffer Length can
then be manually adjusted (1-n Packets), as
required.

IP Group ID

MENU: IP GROUP ID
1234

The IP Group ID is used to prevent the C500ip
Codec from accepting IP connection requests from
unknown sources. This is a useful facility to protect
against accidental or malicious IP connections by
rejecting all requests which do not have a matching
Group ID.

IP DHCP

MENU: IP DHCP
ON

On
Off

When Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
is selected to ON the C500ip will request a
temporary IP Address from the IP Server and
thereby simplifying the setup process.
