8.0  FAILURES IN OPERATION

Consider point 4.2. for all inspections.

Possible failures and repair:

•

Fan is not running

Check power supply and motor protection. If ok, check motor. If motor with two separate
windings, check both speeds. Have the motor repaired if necessary.

•

Air volume too low

Check direction of rotation. If incorrect, change the motor poles. If ok, check working
point and system configuration.

•

Motor protection is tripping

Compare motor data. If ok, check power supply and motor (short circuit, damaged
bearings, impeller blocked or touching other parts).
Have the motor or eventually the whole fan repaired.

Excessive noise

Check if bearings are damaged, impeller is blocked or touching other parts. Have the
motor or eventually the whole fan repaired

 Vibrations

Check working point and system configuration. Should the real system pressure drop be
higher than intended, some fan types might work in the instable area of the fan curve.
Contact the service department of the manufacturer.
Damages or dust on the impeller. Clean it, eventually it has to be rebalanced or
exchanged.

In case of doubt always contact the service department of the manufacturer. After a fire the
fan has to be inspected by the manufacturer.

9.0  WARRANTY

Warranty is only valid when transport, storage, mounting, connection and periodic controls,
have been carried out in accordance with the above mentioned instructions and in
accordance with valid regulations for electrical installations and fire protection. In order to
proof that the warranty is valid, the operator has to present the duly filled in and signed
acceptance and maintenance report.

We point out that it is very important to do the installation carefully. Only then
