4 Inspection of the FGS

Each FGS should be inspected immediately after installation, as

well as every 12 months, based on the following steps:

1.

Identification of the FGS

2.

Date of inspection

3.  Check the electrical connection of the activation mechanism

4.

Check the electrical connection of the end switches

5.

Check the FGS for cleanliness, and eventual treatment (when

necessary)

6.  Remove the protective grating.
7.  Check the tightness of the blades, and record their eventual

correction (when applicable)

8.

Check the Intumex and rubber sealings, and record their

eventual correction (when applicable)

9.

Check the safety FGS closure - for details see Chap. 3

10.

Check the FGS functionality (for details see Chap. 3) with

regard to opening and closing the control system, tracking

the physical behaviour of the FGS and the signalisation of

the end positions, and record their eventual correction (when

applicable)

11.

Set into the operating position - see Chap. 2.1

12. Assemble the protective grating.

13.

Record into Operating log (page 13) with the name and

signature of the technician.

The FGS is usually part of a system. In this case the system must

be checked as specified in its operational and maintenance

requirements – this is a task for the installer of the entire system.

5 Warranty conditions

For the warranty conditions, please contact our Systemair

colleagues in your respective country.
Before installing the FGS, its functionality must be tested

according to Chapter 3 (“Functionality check“)

DO NOT INSTALL A NON-FUNCTIONING FGS!

Changes to the functionality of the FGS, caused by transport or

installation, aren‘t reclaimable after installation (deformations,

damages, mechanical damage of the sealing material, foreign

objects which can constrain the blade movement, improper

handling of the activating mechanism, etc.)

The FGS is transported via a covered means of transport, on

pallets or in boxes. When handling during transportation and

storage, the FGS must be protected against damage and weather

conditions. Blades of FGS must be in closed position. These

products must be stored in a closed and dry area where the

temperature is kept within the range of -20 °C to +50 °C.
