QUICK START GUIDE:

 AEC Coprocessor Module

ESD Warning

This product can be damaged by electrostatic discharge

(ESD). When handling, care must be taken so that the

devices are not damaged. Damage due to inappropriate

handling is not covered by the warranty.
The following precautions must be taken:
•  Do not open the protective conductive packaging until

you have read the following, and are at an approved

   anti-static work station.
•  Use a conductive wrist strap attached to a good earth

 ground.
•  Always discharge yourself by touching a grounded bare

metal surface or approved anti-static mat before picking

  up an ESD-sensitive electronic component.
•  Use an approved anti-static mat to cover your work

 surface.

Card Removal and Installation

Once you are properly grounded, follow this sequence of

steps  to  properly  set-up  and  configure  the  Symetrix AEC

Coprocessor Module in your Radius NX 4x4 or Radius NX

12x8 hardware.
First, make sure the unit is powered down. Next, you must

remove the two rack ears and the lid. To do this, remove the

6 Phillips head screws from the rack ears and the 3 Phillips

head screws from the rear of the frame. Lift the lid up using

the two tabs in the rear of the lid.
If your Radius NX 4x4 or Radius NX 12x8 unit has an AEC

Coprocessor Module installed, unscrew and remove it

by removing the two stainless steel Phillips head screws

located on the top of the card. Gently pull the card up to

disconnect the two 50-pin connectors. The card is no longer

attached to the frame. Carefully remove the card from the

chassis.

To install a new module, align and feed the connectors on

the AEC Coprocessor Module and align the screw holes

in  the  card  with  the  standoffs  on  the  motherboard.  Look

through  this  hole  and  align  with  the  standoff  and  then,

carefully, apply an even downward pressure until you feel

the card seat into the 50-pin sockets. Use the two stainless

steel screws provided and mount the board to the standoff.

Do not over tighten these screws. The 50-pin connectors on

the Symetrix AEC Coprocessor Module should not be under

any tension when properly installed.
Finally, replace the lid and rack ears.
