2. Start Palm Desktop and configure the HotSync Manager for
modem connections. Refer to the instructions included with
software you download.
Modem Requirements
•
a terminal
•
an MDM 3006 modem
•
telephone number from your dial-in server administrator
•
a dial-in account on the host system, including a user ID and
password
•
a RJ11 or RJ12 modem cable
•
a functioning telephone jack that supports plug-in modems
connected to the local telephone system.
Terminal Setup
To define modem connection settings:
1. Tap the Applications icon in the Graffiti area to display the
Applications Launcher
screen.
2. Tap the Prefs icon to display the
Preferences
screen.
3. Tap the triangle in the upper right
corner of the screen to display a
menu and select
Connection
.
4. Tap
New...
to create a new
connection, or select
Custom
from
Available Configuration
drop-down
menu and tap
Edit...
.
5. Enter a name for the connection in the
Name:
text box.
