Generating a request file
Generating a request file
After you have generated a certificate on the security gateway, you can use it as is (that is, self-signed)
or you can generate a request file with which to send it to a certificate authority to get it signed.
Prerequisites
Complete the following tasks before beginning this procedure:

To generate a request file

After you have generated the new certificate, in the SGMI, in the left pane, under System, click
Configuration
.

In the right pane, on the SSL Server Certificates tab, click
Generate request file
.

In the Save dialog box, select the directory in which to save the request file on your local system
and give the file a name.

Click
Save
.

Send the request file to the certificate authority.

Installing a signed certificate
After you send the request file to the certificate authority, that certificate authority sends the
certificate back with its signature added. You can then install this certificate on the security gateway.

In the SGMI, in the left pane, under System, click
Configuration
.

In the right pane, on the SSL Server Certificates tab, click
Install signed certificate
.

Browse to your local desktop (or wherever you stored the signed certificate) and select the signed
certificate.

Click
Open
.

Optionally, do one of the following:

To save your configuration now and activate later, on the toolbar, click
Save
.
■
To activate your configuration now, on the toolbar, click
Activate
.
When prompted to save your changes, click
Yes
.
