About reports
You need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to read reports in PDF format. There are four report
categories for the security gateway:
Analysis reports
Analysis reports provide features for analyzing log file data in each of the major categories of services
from the security gateway. You can select the paper type, hour range, and date from which to generate
a report. Once the report is generated, you can either view, print, or save it.
Note: Be aware that the amount messages logged in your log file can affect the size of your report. The
more information in the log file (for example, spam messages), the longer it takes to generate. Run
these reports during off-peak hours.
Analysis Displays reports that describe system activity. Based on log messages. Use these
reports when you want to understand your log activity.
Configuration Contains information about the current configuration of security gateway
components. Use these reports when you want to understand your configuration
settings.
Validation Displays where the errors are occurring in your configuration, so you can fix them.
Upgrade Generates reports based on messages for all configuration modifications made during
the upgrade.
