b) Connected devices
• Always observe the safety information and operating instructions of any other de-
vices which are connected to the product.
c) Electrical safety
• Before connecting the product to the mains, make sure that your local AC mains
voltage matches the specifications on the nameplate.
• The product’s mains socket is designed to protection class I. Only use an earthed
mains socket (230 V/AC, 50 Hz) connected to the public grid to power the product.
•
Never pour liquids over electrical devices or place objects filled with liquid next
to the device. If liquid or a foreign object enters the interior of the device never-
theless, first power down the respective mains socket (e.g. switch off the circuit
breaker) and then pull the mains plug from the mains socket. Discontinue use and
take the product to a specialist repair centre.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into
a warm one. This may cause condensation to form, which can destroy the product.
Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it and putting it
into use. This may take several hours.
• The mains socket must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
• Always use the grips on the side of the plug to unplug the adapter from the mains
socket.
• Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket if you do not plan to use the product
for an extended period of time.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket during thun-
derstorms.
• Never plug in or unplug the mains plug when your hands are wet.

Do not use the product in very dusty areas. There is a danger of fire and explosion!
• Plug the earthed mains plug on the back of the product directly e.g. into a wall
socket. Do not use an extension.
• Never overload the product. Observe the maximum connected load in the chapter
‘Technical Data’.
• Do not connect the product in series! This can lead to an overload of the product!

• Dead only when unplugged!
d) Persons and product
• Always switch off the connected device before connecting/disconnecting the pro-
duct.

The product generates heat during use. Ensure that there is sufficient ventilation.
Do not cover the product during use.
• Use the product only in a temperate climate, never in a tropical climate.
• Never leave the product and the connected device unattended during use.
• Always comply with the accident prevention regulations for electrical equipment
when using the product in industrial facilities.

Intended use
The product is designed for switching on/off an in-built earthed socket according to the ambient
brightness. It has multiple time programmes. It can be used to control connected electrical
devices. The power supply to the product is provided by a standard domestic earthed mains
socket. The mains cable is looped through to an earthed mains socket on the front of the pro-
duct. Any consumer (max. 16 A) can be connected. The socket integrated into the product has
enhanced contact protection. Never overload the product. The device with item no. 2252485
may only be used indoors; outdoor use is not permitted. Contact with moisture (e.g. in a ba-
throom) must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, do not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the product
for purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition, improper
use can cause hazards such as a short circuit, fire or electric shock. Read the operating instruc
