Connecting the charging station

Connect the charging
station as illustrated in the
diagram. For safety re-
asons, only use the power
adapter plug supplied.
Inserting the batteries
Insert the batteries in the open bat-
tery compartment. Only use batteries
of the type AAA Ni−MH 1.2V. Pay at-
tention to correct polarity.
Close the battery compartment.
Charging the batteries
Before the handset is used for the first time, insert it in the base station/
charging station for
at least
14 hours.
When the handset is inserted in the base station/charging station properly, you
will hear a confirmation signal. The handset warms up during the charging pro-
cess. This is normal and does not represent a risk. Do not charge the handset
with charging units from other manufacturers. The current
battery charge status
is indicated in the display:
Full
Half empty
Weak
Empty
Setting the time and date on the handset
The time and date are set via the menu. Refer to Page 165 for the sequence of
menu option selections necessary.
Private branch exchanges
The information on Page 160 explains how to install your telephone in a private
branch exchange.
Setting the weekday and time on the answering machine
The weekday and time are set automatically on the answering machine via the
handset.
