It’s recommended that users pick a regulator capable of 2A for the modem alone; all other user
peripherals should be in addition to the 2A regulator.

Proper layout and design of switching regulators are
critical
to reduce conducted and radiated
emission on-board. These are often coupled onto the power and antenna of the Modem
increasing RSSI and impeding successful transmission. We
highly recommend
an RF CAN
over any switching regulator to eliminate the risk of radiated emissions from the switcher. An
example RF CAN and proper layout is pictured below.
