6.1.3 SG-CPM5 Options: [2XX] - System Options
Option [201]: Number of Line Cards
Default (24 line cards)
This option is used to set the number of line cards polled by the CPM. This value is a bit mask representing the line card slots that are monitored for line
cards.
For this option, the list view displays the number of bits as the number of line cards.
For example, if the system has four PSTN cards and two IP cards, program the options as 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8. All the other slots are ignored. In this
example, the CPM ignores all but six slots because six line cards are enabled.
FIGURE 6-1: Option [201] programming mode
"FIGURE 6-1" shows the programming mode for the option. You can select the slots that you want to be active. Active slots are indicated by a green
circle and disabled slots are indicated by a gray circle. The number of line cards shown is the total number of bits for the shelf. In "FIGURE 6-1" there
are six active cards.
You can install line cards in any order but you must group them by the physical size of the cards. For example, group DRL5-2L cards in a bank of six
because you must remove the fan tray before you install these cards.
NOTE: The CPM only polls the programmed slots. It ignores all the other slots.
NOTE: The active CPM is the master and it is responsible for all line card polling.
Option [202]: Buzzer Tone
Default (6)
This option is used to set the tone of the buzzer that sounds when the system receives an alarm and is not able to forward the alarm message to auto-
mation (Serial or TCP/IP). If set to ‘0’, the buzzer does not sound when the SG-CPM5 is in Manual mode and alarm messages are pending.
NOTE: For UL installations, setting the buzzer tone to ‘0’ is not permitted.
