Memory Support
The X8DA3/X8DAi supports up to 96 GB Registered ECC DDR3-1333/1066/800
MHz SDRAM.
Notes:
Due to the OS limitations, some operating systems may not show more than
•
4 GB of memory.
Due to allocating memory to system devices, memory remaining available for
•
operational use will be reduced when 4 GB of SDRAM is used. The reduction
in memory availability is disproportional. (Refer to the Memory Availability Table
on the following page for details.)
Order of Populating DIMM Slots
For memory to work properly, follow the table below for the correct order of populat-
ing the DIMM slots. See the motherboad layout page for slot numbering.
Notes:
an "X" indicates a slot populated with a memory module.
Populate DIMMs using the "A" DIMM slots fi rst. Any of the slots may be used.
Populate the "B" slots only after all "A" slots have been fi lled.
