4-8 System Blowers
Two heavy-duty air blowers provide cooling for the chassis. These fans circulate
air through the chassis as a means of lowering the chassis internal temperature.

Changing a System Blower
1. If necessary, open the chassis while the power is running to determine which
blower needs to be changed. (Never run the server for an extended period of
time with the chassis open.)
2. (Optional) Power down the system as described in Section 4-2. This blower
can be replaced without stopping the chassis.
3. Remove the failed fan's power cord from the serverboard.
4. Lift the blower from the chassis.
5. Align the replacement blower with the blower post and secure the blower to
the chassis.
