1-3 Server Chassis Features
The following is a general outline of the main features of the SC827 server chassis.
System Power
Each SC827 chassis model includes two redundant high-efficiency 80 Plus Platinum
certified power supplies, rated at 1620 Watts. In the unlikely event a power
supply fails, replacement is simple and can be accomplished without tools. Note :
Redundant power availability varies with configuration.
SATA Subsystem
The SC827 supports up to twelve 3.5" hot-swap SATA drives in trays (three for each
node). These drives are hot-swappable units and are connected to a backplane
that provides power and control. The backplane also provides drive activity LED
for each drive installed.
Note: To enable the hot swap capability of the drives, your operating system must
support RAID.
Front Control Panel
SC827 models include four front panels on the handles of the chassis that control
each of the systems. Each panel provides control and system monitoring for one
server node. It features a power button, a UID button, and LEDs indicating network
activity, system status and power supply failure.
I/O Backplane
The SAS827B I/O backplane provides a total of twelve 3.5” SATA hard disk drives,
a power button, a UID button and LEDs for each node.
Rear I/O
Each computing node provides a low-profile add-on card slot, a COM port, a VGA
port, two USB 2.0 ports, one IPMI Ethernet port, two gigabit Ethernet ports, and
one InfiniBand port (2022TG-HLIBQRF only) per node.
