Chapter 3: Maintenance and Component Installation
Installing Expansion Cards
Each node can accommodate two full-height, half length x8 PCIe cards per node, plus one
low-profile, half-length x16 PCIe card.
Installing a Full-Height Expansion Card
1. Power down the node and remove it from the chassis.
2. Loosen the release screw that holds the small rectangular cage that secures the PCI
shields, and slide the cage to the right (looking at the chassis rear).
3. Remove the blank PCI shield from the chassis.
4. Slide the expansion card shield into the open shield slot while plugging the expansion
card into the riser card.
5. Secure the expansion card shield by sliding the small cage back to left and tightening
the screw.
