3.2 Accessing the System
Top Cover
A portion of the chassis top is removable to allow access to the system fans and backplane.
Removing the Top Cover
1. Remove the power from the system as described in Section 3.1.
2. Remove the screws securing the cover to the chassis--four on top and two on each
side. See Figure 3-1.
3. Lift the cover from the chassis.
Caution
: Except for short periods of time, do not operate the server without the cover in place.
The chassis cover must be in place to allow for proper airflow and to prevent overheating.
