SATA and RSTe Configuration Sub-menu
SATA Controller
This setting allows you to
Enable
or Disable the SATA device.
SATA Mode Selections
Use this setting to select the SATA mode you desire. Options include
AHCI
and RAID.
SATA Port 0~7 Settings
For each of the ports you many configure the settings listed below.
Port
Use this setting to
Enable
or Disable the SATA port.
Hot Plug
Use this setting to Enable or
Disable
the port as Hot Pluggable.
Spin Up Device
This setting allows you to Enable or
Disable
the Spin up Device for the system. If enabled
for any ports staggered spin up will be performed and only the drives that have this option
enabled will spin up at boot. Otherwise all drives spin up at boot if this setting is disabled.
SATA Device Type
This setting allows you to identify that the SATA port is connected to either a Solid State
Drive or a
Hard Disk Drive
.
PCH-FW Configuration Sub-menu
This sub-menu is only an information display for the firmware used by the system. No active
controls reside in this sub-menu.
ACPI Settings Sub-menu
WHEA Support
This feature Enables the Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA) support for the
Windows 2008 (or a later vision) operating system. The options are
Enabled
and Disabled.
High Precision Timer
Select Enabled to activate the High Performance Event Timer (HPET) that produces periodic
interrupts at a much higher frequency than a Real-time Clock (RTC) does in synchronizing
multimedia streams, providing smooth playback and reducing the dependency on other
timestamp calculation devices, such as an x86 RDTSC Instruction embedded in the CPU.
The High Performance Event Timer is used to replace the 8254 Programmable Interval Timer.
The options are
Enabled
and Disabled.
