Installing Expansion Cards
Each of the eight nodes in the chassis has space for two low-profile expansion cards mounted
in the front of the node.
The following instructions are for chassis nodes in which the expansion
cards are mounted in the rear of the node.
Assembling the PCIe Slot Bracket Assembly
Each node supports one expansion cards at the rear of the node. The expansion card must
be plugged into a riser card, which in turn plugs into the motherboard.
1. Remove the three mounting screws securing the PCIe bracket to the node.
2. Lift the PCIe bracket out of the node.
3. Remove one screw securing the PCIe I/O shield to the bracket and remove the I/O
shield. (Keep the screw, it will be used in step 5.)
4. Insert the expansion card into the riser card.
5. Secure the expansion card by using the same screw removed in step 3.
6. Install the PCIe bracket back into the node while simultaneously plugging the riser card
into the motherboard.
7. Secure the PCIe bracket with the three screws used in step 1.
