CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

•  Keep the area around the log set clean and 

clear of debris.

•  Occasionally,  you  may  use  a  soft  bristle 

brush to clean logs.

•  Once every year a qualified agency or certi

-

fied chimney sweep should examine and 

clean the venting system of the fireplace.

Periodically,  at  least  once  a  year,  visually 

check  the  burner  flame. A  correct  flame 

will be bright yellow with orange streaks. 

See Figure 10. An incorrect flame will be 

dark orange. See figure 11. If your burner 

produces  dark  orange  flames,  turn  the 

burner off and contact a service person or 

IHP for assistance.
