F. Calibration

It is possible to recalibrate the device in certain instances, such as when a
heavier knob is used or the device is used at 90º angles. To recalibrate the
joystick:

1.  Mount the joystick in the location of intended use.

2.  Ensure nothing is touching the knob throughout the calibration

process in order to get an accurate and successful recalibration.

3.  Turn power wheelchair off  and ensure nothing is placing any force on

joystick knob/stem.

4.  Press and hold the red button inside the housing of the device with

a small allen wrench, paper clip, or other small object. (Fig. 2, red
button)

5.  As you continue to hold the red button, turn the power wheelchair

on. The LED status indicator will blink, alternating between red/blue.

6.  Release the red button, press it again for 1 second, then release.

7.  Check the LED status indicator light:

-BLINKING BLUE

 indicates that calibration was

SUCCESSFUL

-BLINKING RED

 indicates that calibration

FAILED

8.  Cycle power on the power wheelchair, and the LED status indicator

light (Fig. 3) should return to a SOLID GREEN until activated.

Unsuccessful calibrations are caused by the joystick having force in any
direction too far from the factory calibrated settings. If the LED status
indicator remains blinking or solid red, or for any additional help, please
contact your Sunrise Medical authorized dealer.

G. Troubleshooting

LED Status Indicator Light:

•  Solid Green - Neutral. Device is ready, check all programming settings

per Set-up Guide.

•  Blinking Green - Driving

Note:

If LED is blinking green and joystick is not being touched or

defl ected, it is likely the joystick stem is bent - call customer service
for a Return Authorization number.

•  Solid Red - Device needs service. Call customer service for a Return

Authorization number.

Problem:

The chair is veering or not driving straight.

Solution:

Confi rm that the joystick is mounted securely and the forward

indicator is facing forward. (Fig. 4)

If additional help is needed, please contact your Sunrise Medical authorized
