Add SATA host card being a primary HDD system booting interface.
Follow the instructions in this section if you are performing a new installation of
Windows 2000/2003/XP/Vista/7/2008 operation system, and you want to boot from
HDD attached on the SATA PCI-Express Card.
Note:
Under this operation, your system HDD will be formatted and you should re-install Windows operation
system. It does NOT work, if you move system primary HDD from mainboard SATA port to PCI Express
SATA card without re-install Windows operation system.
1 . Copy SATA card driver floppy folder into the traditional 3.5 inch floppy disk.
Driver located in the attached CD driver:
:\ SATA \ PCI Express\ 2Ch-Marvell (6G) \ Driver \ Floppy
2. Power off the system. Insert the SATA host card into an available PCI Express slot.
Connect Serial ATA cable(s) between the SATA host card and the serial ATA
device(s). Power on the system.
3. Put Microsoft Windows installation DVD disk in your DVD ROM to create a new
operation system. Pay attention that it will damage (erase) data in this HDD which
you connect to the PCI Express SATA card.
WARING
Please modify the booting sequence in the mainboard
BIOS setting. Select “DVD-ROM” as the first priority when
install Windows OS. After Windows operation system install
finished, please select “SCSI Controller” as the first priority.
Then system will boot from this SATA card.
