4.7.3 Fill a large container with the proper mixture of
Dowfrost HTF and distilled or deionized water. See
Table 5 to determine the proper ratio of Dowfrost
and distilled water required in your climate area.

4.7.4 Fill the collectors and heat exchange jacket
with Dowfrost HD. Pour the HTF mixture through
a funnel and hose attached to the ball hose bibb (see
figure 24). Continue to pour the HTF until the level
of fluid reaches the bottom of the vent port.
Screw the pressure relief valve into the vent port.
Completely seal using Teflon tape.
Remove the opaque material from the solar collec-
tor glazing. Remove any factory applied protective
material from the solar storage tank.
The solar tank should now be fully filled and pres-
surized and the heat exchange jacket charged with
propylene glycol HTF. To ensure that there is no
trapped air in the system, open at least two hot water
fixtures in the home and purge any air in the lines.
SunEarth recommends that the installation contrac-
tor check the HTF three months after first com-
