To remove and install a diskette drive, proceed as follows.
Note –
If a CD-ROM drive is installed, it must be removed before a diskette drive
can be removed or installed.
Removing a Diskette Drive
1. Remove power from the system.
See “Removing Power from the System” on page 45.
2. Remove the cover and attach a wrist strap.
See Chapter 7.
Caution –
Use proper ESD grounding techniques when handling components. Wear
an antistatic wrist strap and use an ESD-protected mat. Store ESD-sensitive
components in antistatic bags before placing it on any surface.
3. Remove the CD-ROM drive if installed (
).
See “Removing a CD-ROM Drive” on page 123.
Note –
If a CD-ROM drive is not installed, the CD-ROM filler panel must be
removed to access the diskette drive.
