6. Installation and operation:

Attention: Please install the machine strictly according to the following steps !

The installation must be operated when the power is switched off !
The protection grade of the machine is IP21, so avoid to use the machine in the rain !

6.1 Installation:
(1) A primary power supply cable is available for the welding machine. Connect this power supply cable

to the rated input power.

(2) The primary cable should be tightly connected to the correct socket to avoid oxidization.
(3) Check the input voltage by multi-meter to assure the voltage is in the normal range.
(4) Insert the cable joint which is connected with the electrode holder into the output anode, fasten it

clockwise.

(5) Insert the cable joint which is connected with work clamp into the output cathode, fasten it clockwise.
(6) Make the grounding cable of the machine well earthed.

The connection as mentioned above in 6.1(4) and 6.1(5) is DCEP connection, operator could also

choose DCEN connection according to the material of workpiece and welding rod application
requirement. Generally, DCEP connection is recommended for basic electrode, while no special
requirement for acid electrode.

6.2 Operation:
(1) Turn the power switch (back panel) on, power LED on the front panel lights up and the fan begins

working.

(2) Pay attention to the polarity when connecting. Phenomena such as unstable arc, spatter and

electrode sticking could happen if improper connecting method is selected. Exchange the polarity if
necessary.

(3) If the workpiece is far away from the welding machine, the secondary cable (electrode holder and

grounding cable) is long, should choose cable with larger cross-section to reduce the voltage drop.

(4) Preset the welding current according to the type and size of the electrode, clip the electrode and then

welding can be carried out by short circuit arc starting. For welding parameters, please refer to the
6.3.
