Loosen four screws, and remove the cover.

Use an Allen key to loosen four screws on the motor (the
screws appear when the belt pulley is turned), at the same
time holding the motor in place. Lower the motor slowly.

Remove the screw together with the spring clip and wash-
er. Pull off the motor’s belt pulley, and replace it with a new
one. To install, follow the above instructions in reverse or-
der. In doing so, note the belt tension.

Lower the motor as described above. Replace the
belt. To install, follow the above instructions in re-
verse order. In doing so, note the belt tension.

Insert the chuck in the clamping nut until the pullout flaps
engage in the groove on the chuck. Screw the clamping
nut (together with the chuck) on the spindle. Insert the
attachment in the chuck, and tighten the clamping nut
firmly. See the SUHNER main catalogue for the chucks.

3.2  t

OOls

Handle tools and attachments with care, keep
them clean and sharp, and observe the manufac-
turer’s instructions on the use of coolants and tool

receivers.
Use the attachments intended for each application. Do
not trim attachments for applications they have not been
designed for.
Always use speeds and feed rates assigned to the attach-
ment and material, and do not exceed the machine’s and
the tool’s max speed.
Never remove chips with your bare hand, but always use
e.g. hooks, etc.

As soon as maintenance or repair work
starts, disconnect the machine from the
power supply, and secure it against acci-

dental reactivation.
The machine is fitted with lifetime lubricated bearings and
is maintenance free.
Check the belt drive for damage every 400 operating
hours.

4.2  t

rOuBleshOOting

In the event of malfunctions, contact an authorised SUH-
NER aftersales service centre.

4.3  B

tensiOn

The belt can be tensioned with the adjusting screw. Strike
the end briefly, and measure the natural frequency with a
frequency or belt tension meter.
Voltage for new belt: 179Hz +/- 2Hz.
voltage for broken in belt: 166Hz +/- 2Hz.
After securing the motor, check the belt tension again. An
incorrect belt tension causes excessive wearing, malfunc-
tion, and even tool failure.

4.4  r

epAir

If despite strict observance of the manufacturing and test-
ing method the machine should happen to fail, it must be
repaired by an authorized SUHNER agency.
