If using the lock-off device or the
locking clip is recommended by the
manufacturer’s instructions supplied
with the child restraint system, use the
lock-off device or locking clip to secure
the child restraint system.

If using ALR mode is recommended
in the manufacturer’s instructions,
supplied with the child restraint sys-
tem, use ALR mode.
In the following steps, the child restraint
system is fastened with a seatbelt that is
set to ELR mode.
1. Place the child restraint system in the
rear seating position.
2. Run the lap and shoulder belt through
or around the child restraint system follow-
ing the instructions provided by its manu-
facturer.
NOTE
Installing a child restraint system on
the rear center seating position is not
recommended, but if it is unavoidable,
install the child restraint system by
properly routing the rear center seat
belt through the belt guide. For infor-
mation about using the seatbelt guide,
refer to the “Fastening the seatbelt”
section in this manual.
3. Insert the tongue plate into the buckle
until you hear a click.
4. Take up the slack in the lap belt.
5. Push and pull the child restraint system
forward and from side to side to check if it
is firmly secured.
