the Model 793 will momentarily be shown. The
System Information webpage from the Model
792’s web server can also be used to show the
firmware version numbers for both the Model 793
and the Model 792.
Dante Firmware Update
As previously discussed, the Model 792 implements
Dante connectivity using the Brooklyn module from
Audinate. The firmware (embedded software) residing
in the Brooklyn module can be updated using one
of the Model 792’s Dante Ethernet ports. The Dante
Controller software application can be used to deter-
mine the version of the firmware (embedded software)
that resides in the Brooklyn module. The System
Information webpage provided by the Model 792’s
web server can also be used to identify the firmware
version. The Dante Controller software application
includes an automated method of updating the Brook-
lyn module’s firmware. It’s called Dante Updater and
is very easy to use. The Dante Controller application
is available, free of charge, on the Audinate website
audinate.com).
The latest Model 792 Dante firmware file, with an
extension of .dnt, is available on the Studio Technol-
ogies’ website as well in Audinate’s product library da-
tabase. The latter allows the Dante Updater software
application that is included with Dante Controller to
automatically update the Model 792’s Dante interface.
Restoring Factory Default Settings
A command in the System Information webpage pro-
vided by the Model 792’s web server allows most of
the configuration settings to be restored to their factory
default values. This can be useful but must be used
with caution. Any customization made to the Model
792’s configuration will be lost. This can be offset in
a positive way by returning the Model 792 to a known
configuration, a point that might aid in troubleshooting
an issue. Refer to Appendix D for a list of the default
values.
