5.2 Inserting and removing the sewing material
- Foot lifting
When during standstill of the machine the needle is approx. 15 mm after its
upper dead point in front of the right penetration, the presser plate and the
plunger can be moved downwards by activating the knee lever. At the same time
the needle thread tension is vented.
For pneumatic lifting also see point “5 Operating the sewing machine”
Now the sewing material can be inserted into the machine between stitch plate
and presser plate.
With the pedal in the engine control, the engine runs at the set max. Rotation
Speed. (See point " 2.4 Technical data ")
The sewing material cannot be removed until the last stitch has been completely
carried out, the needle thread loop has dropped from the hook, the needle is
again in the position mentioned above and the knee lever is activated.
When using a sewing drive with needle height position, the positioning is carried
out automatically.
ATTENTION! Do not operate the machine if there is no material between
the Stitch plate and feed.

Pneumatic lifting
Fig. 14 shows the treadle's switching functions when the machine is equipped
with pneumatic lifting. Place the fabric under the Stitch plate while the cloth
support arm is lifted and close the arm by slightly pressing the treadle (+1).
The machine is now ready to sew.
If the fabric is not placed correctly, the cloth support arm can be lifted again by
heeling the treadle (-1) back into its initial position. At the end of the sewing
process is lifted by heeling the treadle (-1).
