FILTERPLUS
®
Thank you for purchasing a STREAMLINE® Water
Filtration System
The
STREAMLINE®
FH0618K water softening filter is a simple way to soften water prior to small and medium
sized reverse osmosis water filtration systems and other applications. The resin medium can be easily and quickly
regenerated, many times over, using softening salt.
Your system has been assembled and tested to ensure there are no leaks by our team at
STREAMLINE®
. Your
system is ready to go!
Please ensure that you connect your mains water hose to the inlet connection and have connected a hose from the
outlet connection to the filter as explained in the Instructions for Use.
When cleaning windows, remember to pay special attention to the frames, especially if it is the first time this
method of window cleaning is being used. The most important part of the cleaning process is the rinsing, after
the window has been cleaned. To do this, lift the brush away from the glass and move the head from side to side
working from top to bottom, allowing the water to create a sheet, therefore rinsing the glass. Extra care must be
taken if the water refuses to ‘sheet’, as this makes rinsing successfully more difficult. If you are cleaning windows on
a warm day, the rinsing procedure must be done meticulously, as warm, direct sunlight can cause spotting, due to
insufficient rinsing.
Instructions for use
Set Up
Servicing
•
Connect a hose from the water supply
to the inlet connection of the FH0618K
water softening filter.
•
Connect a hose from the outlet of the
filter to the inlet connection of the RO
filtration system.
•
The FH0618K water softening filter will
treat approximately 2200 litres of water
at a hardness of 100ppm. (1100l at
200ppm etc.)
•
When the resin becomes spent, turn
off the water supply and remove
both hoses from the FH0618K water
softening filter.
•
Connect the short hose from the
attached 10” cartridge housing to the
inlet connection of the water softening
filter.
•
Connect a hose from the mains water
supply to the inlet connection of the 10”
cartridge housing.
•
Connect a hose from the water
softening filter and direct it to the
nearest drain.
•
Unscrew the 10” cartridge housing and
fill the empty cartridge with course
softening salt.
•
Insert the salt cartridge into the 10”
housing and secure the housing filter
bowl.
•
Turn the water supply on slightly and
allow the water to slowly flush the salt
through the softening filter and down
the drain.
•
Once the salt has dissolved, turn the
water supply off, refill the salt cartridge,
and flush the softening filter a
second time.
•
After a few minutes test the waste
water with a TDS meter to check for the
presence of salt.
•
If the salt concentration is still high, the
TDS meter will display ERR for error, or
it may display a ppm figure (x10).
•
Continue to flush the softening filter
with water until an approximate tap
water TDS ppm is achieved. The so
ftening filer resin has now completed
regeneration.
•
Remove the hoses and connect them as
explained in ‘set up’ .
